Footwork is a genre of music that originated in Chicago in the early 1990s. It is a style of house dance or street dance and can also be seen as a blend of electronic dance, ghetto house, and Hip Hop. The word “footwork” can also be interpreted as an athletic term where someone has “good footwork”. This is usually linked with the kind of sports sneakers someone is wearing where some sneakers may have better grip than others thus optimizing someone’s ability to perform better.
