Window

« Back to Glossary Index

window is an opening that allows the passage of light and may also allow the passage of sound and sometimes air into a building or room. Modern windows are usually covered in some other transparent or translucent material, with a frame surrounding the material to hold it in place. Many windows may be opened, to allow ventilation, or closed, to exclude inclement weather.

We picked up this gem from our local dealer at White Noise Records. “Windowlicker” was originally released in 1999, under the label Warp Records, by electronic artist Aphex Twin, also known as Richard David James. Chris Cunningham, the creator of the singles artwork cover, also directed the music video for the song. Like much of Richard’s work, each piece speaks for itself.
